Scratchpay vs CareCredit 2026: The 32.99% Deferred Interest Trap

CareCredit's vet promos (6–24 months on $200+) cost $0 only if the promo balance is paid in full; otherwise interest is charged from the purchase date at the 32.99% purchase APR for new accounts. Scratchpay lends $200–$10,000 at 0%–36% APR with fixed payments and credits back interest if paid off within 6 months. On a $2,000 bill, paying $150 instead of $167 a month on a 12-month CareCredit promo adds about $388.
